God is Up to Something

Chris was smoking and sipping a glass of Hennessy when Michael passed, he looked at him and scoffed;

" Michael abeg give me a minute, see ehn, I know many people that are serving God and they are doing well but this your own Christianity is fake walahi, look at you, no money, no car, you have been hustling all your life and then the little money you have, you will carry it to church then you will come back and ask me for change, you better stop wasting your time".

Michael looked at Chris and smiled, he stood up and walked out of the door. Michael's heart was broken, he truly began to wonder if what Chris said was true but then he remembered how God always filled his heart with peace and joy; these were priceless gifts that Chris with all his money could not buy.

A few months later, Michael landed a job that changed his story, Chris finally began to believe that Michael was indeed a child of God and eventually gave his life to Christ.

Psalm 66:12 (ESV) says: you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.

Sometimes you go through before your breakthrough, sometimes there are insults before results, sometimes you get trouble before God gives you double, sometimes there is a mess before God turns it to a message. Don't let your challenges make you doubt God, He is real and He is working it out even when you don't understand what is going on.

People said about Jesus when He was crucified on the cross. Matthew 27:39-44 (NLT) 39The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. 40“Look at you now!” they yelled at him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross!”

41The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. 42“He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him! 43He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”44Even the revolutionaries who were crucified with him ridiculed him in the same way.

All these people who were mocking Jesus had to shut up after 3 days! When you are down to nothing, God is up to something, God is birthing something through your pain, that fire will refine you as pure gold. You are coming out anointed, you are coming out with a mighty hand.
