"Dr. George, on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, we present you the award of the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) for your exemplary service to Nigeria and humanity"
Everyone clapped and cheered as the president of Nigeria pinned a badge on Dr. George's chest and shook his hands. Everyone except his wife Linda and his 2 daughters, he smiled at them but they eyed him.
When they got home, Dr. George looked at his wife and said "the least you could do was to be happy for me today". Linda looked at George and laughed sarcastically " if only they knew the real Dr. George they would never have given you that award, I guess they will never know you are a wife beater and a porn addict, they will never know you sleep with anything in skirt including the house girls and even your daughter's friends, they are fooled by all the hypocritical things you do outside but you can never fool us"
George got up angrily and raised his hand " do you want to beat me again? It's not the first time, beat me now, shameless man". It was that moment it dawned on Dr. George that he had nothing if he didn't have the love and respect of his wife and children and he made up his mind to be a better man from that day forward. He cleaned up all his bad habits, his wife and children are so happy because they had been longing for a loving husband and a caring father.
I don't care whatever it is you have achieved in life, you may be as wealthy as Solomon and be as popular as JFK but if you don't have the respect of your wife and children, you are a failure! Your wife and children are your ministry, they are your first church and most important investment. NOBODY is as important as these two and if people call you a good man but your wife and children don't think so then you are truly not a good man.
Invest time, love and money in your family, you are doing yourself a huge favor. They are God's greatest gift to you, appreciate it! Don't put family members or friends above your wife and children. Don't be a commander be a father, ask for their opinion and let them trust you.
Can you give your wife your phone for a whole day? Does she know your phone password? Can you tell her how much you have in your account? If you cannot do any of these you have trust issues and maybe doing shady things on the side. Your wife should be your best friend, don't keep secrets from your wife. If you have offended her, sincerely ask for forgiveness, find out what you can do to win her trust back and do it!
Your wife and children are EVERYTHING be smart, don't mess it up. May God help us all in Jesus name. Amen
