"Please sir, I need this money just sign my cheque, I have a family to feed,have mercy sir" Wilson pleaded with the manager of the company, he had supplied furniture, they were withholding payment because there were certain modifications with some of the furniture.
He expected the manager to appreciate his ingenuity, he had been their sole distributor in the last 5 years, many times he would deliver furniture without payment and now they were doing this to him.
The money was very needed at that moment because his children had to resume school and his house rent was due. How would he pay these bills? Wilson began to pray and to tell God that he was a tither and therefore no devourer was allowed to hold his money.
As he prayed, the Holy Spirit said to him "I am your source, not the manager of that company, why do you think I cannot open another door when one door shuts? "
The Holy Spirit directed Wilson to Genesis 14:21-23 (NLT) 21The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give back my people who were captured. But you may keep for yourself all the goods you have recovered.”
22Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I solemnly swear to the LORD, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, 23that I will not take so much as a single thread or sandal thong from what belongs to you. Otherwise you might say, ‘I am the one who made Abram rich.’
A few minutes later, Wilson's phone rang, it was a company requesting that Wilson should design the exact type of furniture the other company would not pay him for and they needed it urgently.Wilson had to withdraw the furniture he supplied his former clients and he gave them to the new company, they also paid him triple the amount, his former clients paid him.
Sometimes we put God in a box, we believe that He has to bless us in a particular way through a particular avenue. Some Christians believe that the only way God can bless them is through their salary, they have started seeing their jobs as the source and their means of livelihood. Don't ever forget that God is your Source every other channel is a resource.
God's blessings are gifts, they don't come with strings, He freely gives to those He loves, God is a Jehovah Jireh; a provider. If you loose your job today, don't think you won't survive, expect God to take care of you and He will. Don't make any man your source, if you do, you will be so disappointed that you may want to commit suicide.
God can use anything and anybody to take care of you! In the Kingdom, we are deployed to places where God is interested in taking over, you are like an embassy, your salary is not determined by happenings around the country you are posted but by your homeland. Heaven pays your salary but you may get allowances from your office. May God open our eyes so we can put our priorities right in Jesus name.
