Ben brought out his car keys and pressed the button but he didn't hear
any response, he thought that was strange, he stepped out and realised his car
was missing, he started sweating and looking all over the place, it dawned on
him that his car had been stolen.
He bought the car just 2 weeks ago but he had been saving
for 2 years. He was distraught and he sat on the floor, he wanted to scream, he
was angry, he wanted to say "God why?". A voice spoke to him and said
"encourage yourself in the Lord".
Beloved, when life throws you curveballs and challenges you don't
understand rear their ugly heads, it's not the time to panic, it's the time to
encourage yourself in the Lord.
David had just finished a battle and he got home only to
realise that the Amalekites had raided his home and taken everything he had
worked for including taking his two wives and children as slaves. David and his
men cried for a while but the bible told us in 1 Samuel 30:6 that David
encouraged himself in the Lord and he pursued, overtook and recovered all.
Beloved, I don't know what it is you have lost but if you
remember all God has done in the past, if you remember how he saved you from
that conspiracy at your office, if you remember how you were the only one who
survived that accident, if you remember how your wife gave birth to your baby
without complications, if you remember how God sent that money the moment you
needed it then you will be confident that today's problem will pass.
Remembrance of God's faithfulness in the past is the key to today's victory.
I pray for you, this week you will pursue, overtake and
recover all in Jesus name. Amen.
