I recall the story of a certain magician, the man was said to be so powerful that he used magic to sell a ship to someone and after money exchanged hands, the ship vanished.
The people who had been duped were so angry and they decided to deal with him, they did their research and they discovered that there were certain times the magic did not work so they went to look for him at that particular time and they killed him.
Imagine if we could turn God on and off! Thank God we don't serve a God like that, the God we serve does not sleep, He does not slumber. Your father and mother loves you but after some time they have to sleep but God cannot sleep because we are the apple of His eyes. Psalm 17:8 all that He sees is you and I.
The most tragic thing that can happen to you is to serve a god who sleeps or who is not at home on the day you need him the most. The worshippers of Baal needed their god to send fire from heaven, they cried out to him from morning till night, they cut themselves and their blood flowed yet their god did not answer them even in a life and death situation.
Thank God you can call on Jesus at your moment of weakness, He will never abandon you. The Bible says in Psalm 34:5 (NIV) Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. What a beautiful assurance! Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life! What a tragedy it would be if it was on your death bed that you realized that all you believed was a lie. Don't wait till then, give your life to Jesus today!
If you have not given your life to Jesus say after me " Dear Jesus, I come to You today, I believe You died on the cross and on the 3rd day You rose from the dead and You are now seated at the right hand of the Father. I accept You as my Lord and Savior and I ask that You will dwell in me from now on.
