Your Location is Key to Your Prosperity

Naomi sat on the floor and wept, she had come to the land of Moab with a husband and 2 sons now all of them were dead and worse still, her sons did not have any children, maybe the women were even barren. They left the land of Israel for greener pastures but they found tragedy. Naomi learnt that the famine had subsided so she made the decision to go back to Israel.
Naomi had two daughters in law; Orpah and Ruth and she urged them to go back to their families, she didn't have any more sons who could marry them. Ruth had heard a lot about the Lord God of Israel from her husband and mother in law and she made up her mind that if there was one place she could prosper and be free from the curse of Moab, it had to be the land of Israel.
When Naomi insisted that she should return to her family, Ruth replied; “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. 17Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!”
Naomi had no choice but to take Ruth along to Israel. Ruth was a good woman and she took care of Naomi, very soon everyone was talking about how well Ruth was taking care of Naomi.
Ruth would go all over the town looking for food and she finally found a field where she could glean food. The field belonged to a relative of Ruth's former husband Boaz and when he knew who she was, he told his men to give her all the food she needed.
This went on for a while and before long, Ruth and Boaz were married and she gave birth to a son named Obed who was the grandfather of King David.
Beloved, places matter! God did not promise to bless you everywhere, He promised to bless you in the land which he wants you to stay! Deuteronomy 28:8 (NLT) "The LORD will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
A fish can only thrive in water, birds can only thrive in the air, a lion is useless in water. You don't belong everywhere, you belong in a specific place! It could be Abuja, Lagos, New York or even Afghanistan!
Ruth was a widow and a nobody in Moab but in Israel she became the wife of one of the richest men and the grandmother of King David and she was from Moab! Bible history tells us that Moab was a nation birthed from incest between Lot and his daughters who slept with him when he was drunk! Yet all of this did not matter because she was at the right place!
Could it be that you belong in Abuja and you are in Lagos? Could it be that you belong in Osun State and you are in New York? God always sends your blessings to where you belong! May God open our eyes and ears in Jesus name.
