Vengeance Belongs to God

Romans 12:19 (NLT) Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the LORD.
There are certain things that God specifically called His own, He called them "mine". God said silver and gold is His, He said the first is His and then He said vengeance belongs to Him as well.
God takes vengeance very seriously because He is a God of justice. Whenever you decide to right a wrong by yourself rather than going to God, He will make sure that you fail. It simply means you are telling Him that He is not capable of justice.
It doesn't matter what anyone has done to you, the moment you begin to plan revenge, your life becomes limited, you cannot see beyond the vengeance you want to execute and it consumes your life. Every other thing in your life takes a back seat till you pay the person back.
God also begins to mock you by making sure that He makes the wicked live long so that anytime you see them, it causes you more pain.
The bible says in Proverbs 25:21 (NIV) If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. 22In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,and the Lord will reward you.
Beloved the way to revenge against your enemy is to be good to them! God says when you do this, you NOT God will be heaping burning coals on their head. If you heap coals of fire on someone's head, the person is scarred for life!
After this is done, God then says He will reward you! We are all struggling with different types of revenge and vendetta against those who have offended us. I am preaching to myself this morning because I am very prone to revenge.
It is my prayer that God will help us all to leave vengeance to God and be kind to those who have hurt us.
