Exodus 14:14 (GWT) The LORD is fighting for you! So be still!"
When Moses made this statement, he had just led over 2
million Jews out of Egypt and the Egyptians were in hot pursuit with chariots
and their best army and in front of Moses was the red Sea. There was no escape
whatsoever.
What then could prompt Moses to tell the Israelis to be
still or keep calm during this trying period? It was because he had seen God do
terrible things to the Egyptians. He had seen God send 10 plagues
to Egypt.
These plagues turned an economic power like Egypt to a dilapidated nation.
These plagues turned an economic power like Egypt to a dilapidated nation.
Moses was confident that God was able to fight for them, he had enough
evidence. Moses asked the Israelis to be still or hold their peace because it
was impossible not to be disturbed by what they saw.
The same way; I don't know what you are dealing with, it
could be some debt you owe, or money for school fees, it could be a life
threatening disease, it could be your marriage, it could be that you have been
treated unjustly, God is telling you to be still, He will make a way, He will
heal you, He will save your marriage, He will justify you.
What was the last major miracle God did in your life?
It's this morning! That you are awake and reading this post is a miracle! When
was the last time you prayed for something and God did it? If He has shown up
for you in the past, trust Him for this miracle as well, you will not be
disappointed, He will fight for you. Only be still and be at peace.
