The Blessing!

Louis was driving his 2015 Mercedes GL450 around his former neighbourhood when he suddenly parked and began to cry; they were tears of joy and thanksgiving to God. He remembered how he used to wait in front of his house to carry okada (motorbikes) on this very same street were he was now driving his car.
There used to be a Mercedes showroom not far from his house and as the okada drove him past the showroom, he would stare at the cars longingly and wonder if the day would ever come when he would be able to walk into the car shop and order one of the Mercedes. That was in the past, right now he had every model of all the latest Mercedes Benz.
Louis was a devout christian and a choir leader in his church; in those early days, he would lead powerful praise and worship sessions and after church, he would wait for the okada to pick him up while church members sped along in their cars. There were many times he was so broke that he would drink garri after church on Sunday.
Many times, he felt like God had abandoned him but things began to change gradually. God began to bless him with singing engagements at weddings and birthdays so he moved from okada to carrying cabs and then he bought his first Mercedes and gradually he became an outstanding success and a point of reference to how God blesses His people.
The bible says in Deuteronomy 28:2 (ESV) And all these blessings shall come upon you and ‪#‎overtake‬ you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.
I like to see the blessing as a car on top speed which suddenly came from the back and overtakes you and then the driver of the car gets down at every junction and tells anyone who cares to listen "there is a gentleman named Adewale coming through this way soon, when you see him, make sure you bless him, give him money, give him whatever it is that will make him happy".
God's blessing is not based on how much of hustling you have done, it is the reward for obedience and faithfulness. Many Christians love miracles but wise Christians run after the blessing of the Lord. Proverbs 10:22 (NIV) says; The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.
Do what God requires of you and the blessing will come on you and overtake you; you may ask, what does God require of me?
1. Have faith in God and believe that He exists. (Hebrews 11:6)
2.Love God with all your heart (Matthew 22:37)
3. Love your neighbour as yourself (Matthew 22:37)
4. Pay your tithe, the tithe activates the blessing on your life. (Malachi 3:10)
5. Honour your wife/husband, parents and authority. (Exodus 20:12)
6. Take care of the poor (Proverbs 19:17)
7. Attend a bible believing church and be planted in that church, you can't be blessed if you run from church to church every Sunday. (Psalm 92:13)
If you live your life this way, praying will not be a challenge to you and you would have set yourself up on God's railway. There is only one destination and that is overwhelming, mind blowing success in whatever you lay your hands on.

Are You a Lover or a Beggar?

Wumi checked her time, it was 10am in the morning, she had not spoken to her husband in 2 hours, so she picked up her phone and sent him a message. The thought of him put a smile on her face, what would she do without her precious Olufemi?
They had been married for four years and she had never regretted her decision to marry him for a single day. Their first few years were very tough, they had to squat with friends and family for about a year after their wedding but her love and devotion to her husband only grew. She just loved the man uncontrollably and Olufemi loved her back with the same passion and zeal.
Ladies and gentlemen, God is not looking for an affair or a one night stand with you, He is not looking for people who will cry to Him only when they have challenges, God is looking for lovers, He is looking for people who have a heart for Him regardless of what is going on in their lives.
David who was described as a man after God's own heart said in Psalm 42:1 (NLT) As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. Do you ever long for God? Are you ever conscious of the presence of the Holy Spirit? Do you consciously study the word of God to know God more? Do you want more of God or just the things you can get out of Him?
Let me share a secret with you. Lovers don't beg for anything from their beloved before they are given what they want. A lover pleasures the heart of his beloved while beggars only seek an audience for what they need at a particular point in time. Lovers and beggars can NEVER have the same results!
Which would you be? Would you love God and consciously spend time in His presence or would you be a beggar who only comes to God when help is needed?

What Every Woman Wants in a Man

Don't Condemn Yourself

Steven was celebrating his abstinence anniversary. Since he became a born again Christian four months ago, he had not slept with any woman, he felt pure and holy; for the first time in his life, he felt like he was in control.
Lucy his ex girlfriend stayed 10 minutes away from his house. The first time he refused to sleep with her, she thought that he had found another woman he was sleeping with and she began to cry. Steven had to explain that he had become a born again christian, he tried to preach to her but she only laughed, she couldn't believe him.
Few days later, he called off the relationship and he refused to pick her calls and text messages since then, she was a distraction and he didn't want to go back to his old ways.
Steven attended the midweek service of his church and he felt so blessed and empowered. On his way home, he decided to branch Lucy's house just to check on her, he felt he had the responsibility to lead her to Christ as well.
When Lucy saw Steven, she began to cry so Steven hugged her and told her that there was still a chance they could be together if she gave her life to Christ like he did. He did not know what happened but suddenly they were kissing and clothes were flying. He felt so dirty afterwards. Now Lucy would think he was a fake believer, he was so ashamed and sad as he drove home.
He didn't even feel like reading his bible but as he opened it, his eyes went straight to Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
He felt like a huge weight had been lifted off him as he poured out his heart to Jesus Christ to help him. He felt brand new and his joy returned. He also prayed for grace to resist temptation next time. If he ever wanted to talk to Lucy from now on, it would be in public and never in her room.
Are you a born again believer and you are struggling with certain sins? Don't be too hard on yourself, your struggle is proof that you will win. In the past you could sleep with many women, smoke cigarettes and marijuana, lie and steal without feeling bad or your conscience disturbing you but right now there is a difference! Jesus is alive in you and the Holy Spirit now walks with you that's why your conscience pricks you anytime you sin.
Dust yourself up, learn from the temptation and move ahead. Don't condemn yourself, Jesus did not condemn you. Your little light that is shining for Christ will soon become a wildfire. Don't let the devil tell you that you can't stop having pre marital sex or smoking and drinking. The devil is the father of liars, believe the opposite of what he is telling you. The Holy Spirit will help you, Jesus will not give up on you till you become a mature christian. I pray for grace to do the right things from now on.

Akpororo in COZA [COZA at 16]

Pray!

Cynthia walked into the office of the director for finance. She had met him at a lecture and she made sure she got his complimentary card. She desperately needed a job and she had tried many times to reach him but she couldn't so she came to his office.
"Good morning, I will like to see the director". The receptionist looked at her and smiled. "Good morning, what's your name and is the director expecting you?". Cynthia informed her that the director was not expecting her. Thereceptionist replied in a very professional voice "I am sorry, you will not be able to see the director, you cannot see him without booking an appointment."
Cynthia decided to try the director's number one more time and this time, he picked the call. She introduced herself and told him that she was at the receptionist's office. The next thing that happened was that the receptionist got a call from the director and Cynthia was sent in, the director reviewed her qualifications and then gave her a job.
Many times in life, we are focusing on man to help us rather than to focus on the God of Man. Cynthia could have been begging the receptionist all day if she didn't have the number of the director. God's phone number is in Matthew 7:7 (ESV) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Many times, we like activity, because it makes us feel like we are doing something to get us closer to our answered prayers but your results will amaze you if you sit still in God's presence and let Him give you a winning strategy.
The bible says in Psalm 121:1-2 (ESV) I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
Ladies and Gentlemen, man cannot help you if God has not helped you. Thus, your first reaction to any problem is not who you can call or run to, your first reaction is to pray! Settle it in the place of prayer then step out! Direction, wisdom and favour will come.
What is it that you are planing to do this week? Have you prayed about it? Your refusal to pray is proof that you are proud. You believe you don't need God and you can sort it out on your own. You may say "oh I never thought about it that way" that's what it is when you don't pray. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your own understanding, in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5).
Don't leave your bed without talking to the God of Man, He will let men help you and grant you favour.

Your Wife is A Source of Strength and Power

Stanley was a successful businessman, he had never lost a deal, he had lots of professionals he worked with who always provided technical advice but that was not the reason why he never lost a deal.
Stanley's wife Rose was a college dropout but Stanley always discussed his business with her and asked for advice even though she did not have the experience or educational background. Stanley recognised that his wife had instinct and she could simply sense when something was wrong and 10 out of 10 times, she was usually right.
The bible says in Genesis 2:18 (NLT)
Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a ‪#‎helper‬ who is just right for him."
The word 'helper' or 'help meet' in Hebrew is 'Ezer' which means 'power' or 'strength'. So when the Lord God was saying He would create an helper for man, He was not talking about a helper like your house girl, He was talking about a superior being who would be with man to help him achieve his purpose.
The latest of anything is always an improved version and the woman was the improved version of the man. God made her everything the man was not. Unfortunately, it was not Adam who immediately realised how powerful the woman was, it was the devil and in the twinkle of an eye, he had used her to wreak havoc.
Ever since then, the devil's most powerful weapon has been the woman and God's most powerful weapons have been the Daughters of Zion. These are women who understand their role as wives, daughters and mothers who have used their influence with God to bless and protect their husbands, sons and fathers.
It is not easy for a superior to submit to the lesser, many men complain that their wives and girlfriends are not submissive. The only kind of man, a woman finds it easy to submit to is the man who is submitted to God. Mr Husband, Mr. Fiancee, are you submitted to God?
I once read about God made billionaire; John D. Rockefeller who was the richest man the world has ever known after King Solomon and he had this to say about his wife; "her judgement was always better than mine. Without her keen advice, I would be a poor man"
Don't look down on your wife even if she's an illiterate, don't think she doesn't know anything, by default, she is smarter than you. Though tender and easily swayed like a butterfly, a women could be like a flood or like fire that destroys everything on its part when hurt.
Make the conscious effort to discuss your business and plans with her, her advice and contributions will be priceless. God will also be pleased with you for realising the role of the woman He gave to you.

Settle Your Differences

"Daddy it's Daniel again o, now he comes back home around 12 midnight and when I ask him where he is coming from, he will just ignore me, I am tired of this marriage daddy". Kate whined.
Nathaniel was tired of settling quarrels between his daughter and her husband and he knew that if he wanted his daughter's marriage to last, he had to make a decision. "I want to see you and your husband tomorrow morning".
Kate was happy, she had been trying to get her father to talk to her husband about some of his behaviours and for the first time, it seemed as though, actions would finally be taken.
The next morning, Daniel and Kate sat before Nathaniel and he said to them "Kate told me about the challenges she's facing with you, I am sure both of you will find a way to work things out. I have an advice for both of you, from this moment on, whenever you call me, let it be it's because you just built your house or you just won a contract or because something good just happened to both of you. I don't want any of you to report each other to me, if you don't heed my advice, I will not be happy with the both of you"
Daniel and Kate were shocked but now they knew they couldn't run to anybody except each other. Daniel's parents were deceased and Kate's mother was deceased as well. From that moment, they settled their disagreements amicably and their marriage began to bloom.
The biggest cancer to any relationship and marriage is the 3rd party factor. Stop reporting each other to family members! Learn to settle things by yourself. 80% of the people you wash your dirty linen in front of do not really care about you, your rantings and nagging just amuses them.
Don't think you are showing the faults of the other person, you are also showing that your judgement is poor by marrying or dating him/ her. Whenever you report your spouse, you are revealing your inability to lead and your level of maturity as well.
The bible says in Genesis 2: 24 (NLT)This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
You and your husband/wife are one. It is IMPOSSIBLE to hurt him/her and not hurt yourself. Whenever you reveal his/her faults you are revealing your own faults as well. Whoever you marry is the most important decision of your life, you must be prepared to make it work no matter what it takes! Your marriage is worth fighting for, don't let it rot, fight for it!

Time and Chance Happens To All

"Nawa o, common 2000 Naira you cannot afford, I am tired of all this your ways, for me making money is easy, the problem is you are not sharp, you are just too slow"
Jide felt very sad after Kunle, his best friend tongue lashed him. He needed the money to attend a seminar on network marketing so he could start earning some money. He wasn't lazy or slow, things were not just working for him at the moment. Jide approached his next door neighbour and begged for the money he needed and he was given.
Jide threw all of himself into the network marketing business and in 5 months, he was earning as much as 600,000 Naira a day. Kunle, his best friend was also doing well but he did not have the kind of money Jide had. Kunle finally realised that Jide was not slow and as a matter of fact, he was way sharper than him financially.
The bible says in Ecclesiastes 9:11 (ESV)
Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
Don't think other people are foolish because you are doing very well right now and they are not, they may just be going through process. Life is full of ups and downs, someone up today may be down tomorrow. Be careful how you treat people when you feel you have arrived and don't ever conclude about anybody or say words that would count against you in the future.
Some people who look like nothing today may be the big shots of tomorrow. Treat everyone with respect because you don't know who God will use for you. May God grant us all wisdom and common sense in Jesus name. Amen

Angel or Demon?

Whitney was in the middle of her most famous song "I Will Always Love You" when she saw Bobby Brown staring at her. She felt goose bumps all over her, she used to dream that she married him when she was a young girl and here he was in front of her, looking as handsome as ever. They called him a heart breaker and all sorts of names but he wouldn't do that to her, she would be the love of his life and they would live happily ever after.
If Whitney Houston had known, she would have run for her life. That single encounter led to the end of her career, her untimely death and now the death of her daughter.
Beloved, when God wants to bless you, He will send a man and when the devil wants to punish you as well, he will also send a man. Let us be conscious of the roles certain people play in our lives. Your family, friends and colleagues are on a mission, it's very important to know who they are working for; either for God or the devil.
Those who are working for God will bring you closer to God, they will talk to you about the bible and make you live a righteous life. Those working for the devil will bring out the worst in you, you will begin to do things you never thought you could do. If on your own all you smoke are cigarettes, in the presence of friends who are working for the devil, you will graduate to marijuana and many others.
Ask yourself these questions; who brings out the best in me?
Who brings out the worst in me?
Who builds my faith?
Who feeds my fears?
Who feeds my weakness?
Who makes me control myself?
The answer to these questions will help you know who belongs in your life or not. May God give us all wisdom in Jesus name.
